If you could stand in someone else's shoes,
Hear what they hear,
Feel what they feel,
See what they see,
Would you treat them differently?
Thank you for visiting this site. My name is Mary Hopes and I am a professionally trained, accredited funeral celebrant and a full member of the Institute of Civil Funerals.
Creating and delivering high quality, personal funeral and memorial services, as well as ceremonies for the scattering of ashes, I assist you to build the secular and semi religious services that YOU want.
I hold the national qualification Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (QCF). My skills and suitability for all aspects of this work have been very rigorously assessed.
Being in public service for over thirty years, I often witnessed the trauma and heartbreak brought about by death, whether expected or sudden. I spent some time working as a Coroner's Officer and met many good, kind people from all walks of life who were affected by unnatural and unexplained death. To help a person, especially when they are at their most vulnerable through bereavement, is a privilege.
I haven't reached my fifties without experiencing, first hand, the wrench of the loss of loved ones. I have lost a child, both parents and many friends and colleagues, so my compassion is laced with understanding, though recognising and respecting that each one of us is so very different.
I hope that my training and qualification - along with my life experience and Institute membership - gives you the confidence to consider entrusting a funeral ceremony to my leadership.
